Your Top 3 Choices You Hope Miami Will Take #1
Alot of people are for this guy and against that guy. People have their opinions on where they should go with the pick.
Assuming that they do not trade out, if you would list your top 3 choices in order of preference that you would like the Fins to choose.
Comments, explanations welcomed, but not necessary.
1. Jake Long
This is my 1st pick. I liked him from the beginning, but have made myself accept that we won't take him. He's a stud and a safe pick. But I have a feeling with OL depth being as good as it is in this draft I don't believe Bill will go for him. In addition I think we are a sure bet to go after Adams.
2. Matt Ryan
If Parcells is not sold on Beck, Miami should treat the most important position as a top priority in a draft for the 1st time in 25 years. Yes it's alot of money. Yes your taking a chance, but sometimes you just gotta grow a pair. Take the best prospect at the position. There is a reason why he is the only 1st rd QB prospect and the others are 2nd-3rd rounders. Lets stop trying to be cute with the 2nd rounders and has-beens. Lets quit trying to see how warm the water is with our toes and dive in.
3. Vernon Gholston
If we must go defense, I'd like Gholston over the others. Dorsey has too many injury concerns and I think Chris Long is getting a bit too hyped up because his dad is Howie. Gholston has a bigger upside and I personally think just flat out better.

My thoughts:
- Chris Long-- This kid has the heart, toughness, and geneology to be one of the best. Not only is he the top player in the draft, the most NFL ready player, but he has absolutely NO off the field issues. He also is the most perfect fit for Miami's 3-4 defense. This kid will be a star in this league. He will make a name for himself, not just because he is Howie's son... you can see that in the way he plays, and the way his eyes light up when he talks about the NFL. He has to be the #1 pick.
- Vernon Gholston-- We need a fit for our 3-4 end/LB, and Gholston is literally an ounce below Chris Long. The only problem I see with Gholston is that he isn't as NFL ready as lots of the top picks. But in a few years, I could see him being a great player. Also, I get worried when everyone drools over a player's combine... I honestly don't remember hearing of this kid until right before the combine... and that scares me enough to not be our #1.
- Sedrick Ellis-- He is the best DT that can play in a 4-3 or 3-4, so if we have a hybrid defense, he will be a perfect fit... the only reason he isn't #1 is because I feel that there are just as talented players that will be available in rounds 2 and 3.

i'll drink to that
he'll scare the heck out of the slackers they currently have....
ronnie brown not giving it a %110 - J long will have a little talk with him....
V Carey dogging it because beck is in at QB and he wants cleo.... J long will have a little talk with him....
hagen dropping passes over the middle cause he's looking at the cheerleaders or someone in the stands.... l long will ahve a little talk with him
and any one of those guys who is suppose to be a TE - J Long will have a talk with him...
that's what happens when you draft the baddest guy in the draft. it works in baltimore with people who have to answer to r lewis and it works in michigan with mr long. I expect it to work in miami.

My 3
- Chris Long - With a draft with no blue chippers, I'd go with the safest pick. He's a guy that brings some versatility to the team.
- Vernon Gholston - If we trade down to the 3rd spot he may be the guy because Chris Long may be gone to the Rams. Alot of upside.
- Matt Ryan/ Jake Long - Who knows really what Matt Ryan is. I'd rather take a safe pick and look at QB next year if Beck doesn't turn out. I keep hearing how Jake Long is bigger and stronger than Joe Thomas. Which is true. He's also a better run blocker. The bad part is he's not a better pass blocker and some think he needs to grow there. He might be better suited for RT in the NFL.
