Im not a Hater but....
whats the deal with Rickey? Why do we keep using him and swapping out our ONLY TRUE THREAT in the back field. Week after week i see the same thing and Im not impressed. The entire pace of the offense struggles when he's out there.
Ronnie is clearly the better back, Im hoping they are doing this for trade bait. I will be Pissed Off if we are close in a game especially now in the playoff hunt and Rickey is given the ball on the ground. Rickey your time here in Miami has passed and you need to man up and let Ronnie take the load.

WOW
I am assuming your one of those guys who just bases a player and teams production soley on the stats.
Yards per carry basically says it all Ronnie-4.1 and Ricky-4.2. How are you going to tell me Ricky is not productive.
Plus with the way the game is going now two running backs seems to be an ideal fit for the NFL. Not only does Ricky coming in for Ronnie and vice versa keep them fresh to be more explosive on each carry it also limits the amount of hits and punishment each takes and helps limit injuries. It also prevents them from wearing down through the season.
I do not see your reason for Ricky not doing well when he is on the field! Have you seen his athletic catches and key runs when the Fins need them. Yes he has had a few years where he turned his back on the team, but he has done everything he can to show EVERYONE he can still play.
Let me know what you think

oh whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!
way off base buddy,,,,,at least spell “Ricky” correctly. Ricky just got a 2 year extension…and to me is a top2 or 3 backup rb in this league. allot of team wish they had him to start….ask the Pats or Broncos. I agree they need more Ronnie…but no complaining right now dude….we are winning
8-5

I will just refer you to my Perspective II post from last week
Ricky and Ronnie are both HUGE threats. You take away one, you are going to lose the production of the other. With all of the hits and punishment a RB takes now a days, two backs is the only way to go.
And, have you seen Cobbs? I would say he is a threat out of the backfield too. I think we are very. very gifted at the RB position right now. Not even taking into account Polite as a FB.
Both Ricky and Ronnie are great talents who thrive on carries. Ricky isn’t taking Ronnie’s carries. We just need to get them BOTH the touches to get them BOTH going.

Ricky is a very solid Backup RB
what we need to do is cool it with the wildcat.

I don't know....
As long as we keep running it, the other teams have to prepare for it.
I think it’s just a matter of getting a few new wrinkles into it, and going back to some of the stuff that has worked. Ronnie throwing. More Ricky. Ginnja end around. Flea flicker back to CP10. Something.
But, I agree we are getting better at running out of the base formation.
And, did anyone else notice what looked like a Wildcat formation but with CP10 still back at QB? I swear we ran one time the wildcat, with Ricky coming around the formation, but it was CP10 giving him the ball. Still the unbalanced line…just CP10. Maybe I am wrong on that.

Agreed... our wildcat is currently "wrinkle-free"
but i suspect that back to a remark i read from one of the linemen. It was something about all of the new stuff that they were holding close to the vest. I kinda get the feel that they are only gonna “break glass in case of fire”… you know, break out a “wrinkle” when they need to change the pace or momentum in a game. Hopefully, they have some tricky stuff for our friendly little interdivision rivals at the end of the year. :)
And yes, i didn’t go back and look at it again, but during one play i said, “there’s the wildcat again” and then realized Chad was still at QB. Not sure what that was and didn’t re-play it to see if it was an unbalanced line.

Here's the thing
Ronnie is still only 13 months removed from blowing his knee out. Ricky is a year removed from a pectoral injury. Both are healthy and fresh 3/4 of the way through the season. Why is that? Because they are SHARING the LOAD. Neither guy is getting pounded, and neither guy is wearing his legs down toting the rock 25 times a game. Yet we are still getting 25+ rushes and 100+ yards a game. There is not a better situation to be in with the running back position. So neither guy is at 1000 yet. So neither guy hits 100 every game. Big deal. We still pound the rock with the best of them, and they are both averaging 4+ yards per carry. You may not think you’re a Hater, but you’re definitely just hatin’.

Dude, you start out saying "Not a hater"
and then hate all over ganja boy!
i think you really need to watch the games. Ricky had a beautiful run for a TD that was called back for a phantom holding call, and another 20 yd run… he is DEFINITELY productive, and in this league today, you better have two starting caliber backs.
Also, Ricky is a different type of runner than Ronnie. He actually has better moves and seems to have better vision. Ronnie is an “in your face” freight train comin at you.
And they both are solid receivers out of the backfield… hell, they even split Ricky out sometimes. Did you not see that fantastic deep sideline catch Ricky made for a TD earlier?
Sounds like you might have some personal issues with the man? did he steal your something from you? Wife? Weed? Hershey bar?

Ricky is fine
Better to have to fresh backs in December anyways. Not to mention if one back goes down we basically won’t skip a beat with the other having just about the same amount of carries.
I truly feel if Ricky or Ronnie went down we could put Cobbs, even Polite to back up and either would fill in nicely.
Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

I was going to comment on that
I like that nickname. When did that start? It’s awesome.

Cobbs 100+ yd receiving game
when he took a screen pass 80 and a Wildcat Flea Flicker Reverse Pass Thingie 53. Started calling it the WildCobbs formation, and it just stuck..
I believe it was the Houston Game.

I think something we need to note is that our run blocking has been a little suspect at times
as our O-line gelled. Especially at the beginning of the year. DESPITE this, Ricky and Ronnie still got their yards and still made plays. They are incredibly talented and flexible backs, and we’re lucky to have both. I agree that Ronnie is the more talented runner at the moment, but being slightly less talented than Ronnie is no bad thing.
Put it this way. No R+R Express = no wildcat = no Fins 38 – 13 Pats = no mission 3W and a potential division crown.
Also, maybe you still hate Ricky cus of the walkout. Whatever you think about that, let me just say this. It’s so easy in life to make a mistake. Working your way back to where you were so you can make amends? That’s almost impossible, and requires real heart. I think Ricky has shown that heart each and every Sunday this year.
Football isn't a matter of life and death - it's far more important than that.

Right
totally agree. What continually gets overlooked with Ricky leaving was the severe anxiety disorder that ate at him day in and day out. You can’t be a superstar athlete with an anxiety disorder. So he left, got help, and now he’s back. The biggest thing with Ricky now… he’s ENJOYING football again.

Exactly
I think the pressure is off of him. He feels better and he knows that no one is demanding that he be the NFL leading rusher. Just go out, have fun, and Run Ricky Run!
