Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

At the Helm....

I was thinking about this the other day.....

You know, watching games over all these years I have seen many, many things. But one thing I have noticed over the years is how many times that QB's get taken out of the game (sometimes on a strecher), especially in very important games by a blitzing linebacker or corner or whatever. This happens many times in this league, and the worst shots are the one's that the QB never see's coming. I know that most good QB's have that fifth sense that they usually know when someone on defense is closing on them with plans to end their career or playing time in the game....

What I'm getting at is, what a luxury it is to finally have a worthy and confident backup QB on this team. I know we have had some real dud's in the past like the Cleo "Medowlark" Lemon's, the Ray "Puke's" Lucas'. to mention a few.... and well,.... isn't it nice to have a very confident Chad Henne waiting in the wings who is very much capable of stepping in and not missing a beat in an important game.

I think that sometimes we take for granted how lucky we are to have such a great backup just in case CP10 gets blindsided. I personally never was a huge Henne fan, but I have to say that he has thoroughly impressed me since joining this team. I feel that given the opportunity will really prove his worth as a Dolphin.

....Thoughts?

I wouldnt go...

and say how lucky we are in having a luxury in having Henne as our backup right now. Dont get me wrong I personally think he will be special, but if Penny gets injured (thats painful to type) we really dont know what Henne has right now.

After watching Rzayos video post I can say with confidence that if J.Peezy gets a clean shot on JP Loserman (my shot at humor) that he will hit him at 14mph and deliver a shot that is like getting kicked by a bull (literally)!! If you want to know how many pounds of pressure that is its 1160 to be exact!! :)

kinda hear ya

I know he’s untested as of yet, but yea, it is nice to know that at least the back up isn’t a total dud and that if something happens, we don’t go into a fetal position when his number is called

Can't truly know what we have in our backup...yet

It’s nice to think we know what we have in our backup…but the bottom line is that he is still very unproven, except for a few simple pre-season games. Don’t get me wrong, I believe this guy IS THE FUTURE of our team at that position and I think he’s got a great arm…hopefully he has the smart to back it up..but at the moment we have no idea whether or not he’d be able to fill in admirably in a season end situation such as this because he still needs some experience..
But anyways, we have CHAD and for that I am super greatful…I hope he stays healthy and based on this season I don’t see any reason why he won’t be the starter next season and for the whole year too.. let’s hope we don’t require the need to utilize our BACKUP qb anytime soon..
