'The Matty's' Award Show: Award Names

Welcome, everybody to to the Award Creation Thread for the upcoming Matty Awards! I'm looking for between 10-20 ideas for Awards that we can give out to blog members or Dolphins players, named for blog members or players. I've come up with a few, but they are completely open to debate, so let's get some good ones, then next week we'll start nominating, and by the end of the season we'll have voted on all the awards and Matty can give them out.
We are the best blog on SBN, and I believe we might be the only ones giving out Blog Awards. So here we go..
Matty I's Well Said Award - given to the blogger who has the most insighful and interesting posts and comments, and earns an inordinate amount of 'well said's and 'indeed's from Matty I in the Sky.
Little Nicky's Gameball of the Year Award - given to the player who's earned the most Gameballs (decided by points) during the season.
Finsxfactor Memorial Outburst Award - given to the blogger who had the most memorable blow-up/outburst towards an opposing fan and/or Phinsider member.
Rzayo24's Frontpage Frontrunner Award - given to the blogger who was frontpaged the most. Racking up the rec's is a bonus.
HuskerDolphin's "Mortar to Bricks" Mediator Award - given to the blogger who best exemplifies sportsmanship and level-headedness when commenting and posting.
Mosul's 'Comment Goo-ing Photon Cannon' Award - given to the blogger with the best collection of random hilarious comments or posts. Bonus if you earned a finsxfactor 'lol'.
Jersquall's 'The Year in Pictures' - a recap of the year on the blog as told through the brilliant photoshopping skills of Jersquall.
So please contribute your own ideas, or come up with different ideas for mine, I don't mind. Let's get a good number of awards and get the Matty's rolling!

Oh - and Nicky...
…could you head this project? And then when it comes time to vote, I’ll take the nominees and make individual posts for each category (spread over time). In the meantime, I’ll look for a good voting application that we can use that only allows me to see the results as they come in – so that the suspense builds and nobody knows who the winner is until the official announcement.

I’ll take the job! I was already planning on getting all the awards.. nominees, and trophy-pictures, and then recruiting help.. so no big deal for me.. The hidden votes sounds like a good idea, I hadn’t thought of that, and we can have the awards announced over the course of a week when nothing happens lol

"craziest/ballsieat" reminds me of a time.........
Fins Vs Bills…..a few years back. I don’t remeber the year, but Flutie was their guy. The game was the weekend before Halloween in Buffalo. So, I had this BRIGHT idea……….
Paint a rock N roll wig bright orange…….
Paint my face like The Demon(Gene Simmons) from KISS….only with aqua insted of black!!
Decked out in my Dolphin gear, of course………..
We lost the game, but my highlight………..Watching this crazed Bills fan with a Flutie Flakes ceral box on his head almost flip his lid because I wouldn’t tell him where I was from. The more he asked the calmer I refused to answer and the more enraged he became.
I guess one would had have to been there to get the true feel for the situation. But, a guy with a ceral box on his head yell at a guy dressed like the Demon……well, makes me laugh and warms my heart!!

Great thread guys.
Nothing to do with the fins, but you really keep the community humming with this mess, I love it.
But if we name the awards after commenters, surely they’ll always win their own award, lol. Like who is going to out front-page RZ, or out picture Jersquall? No one, that’s who.
How about naming some of the awards after the players, both past and present? Like we could have the J-Peezy award for most trash talk on other fans sites, lol. The Crowder award for best sound bytes, quotes or one-liners, maybe? The Rothweilder award for bat-shit insane ranting angry posts that make no sense whatsoever, haha. Or the Dan Marino award for Phinsider legend, like a lifetime achievement award, lol. Matty, I think you’d have to be disqualified, it would be like the guys who run Canton voting themselves in. My vote would be for the main man RZ. Quality stuff from him every week, hell every post.
Love Aleta’s award cus I love his posts, hell all of this stuff is great. Wish Plaxico Burress had played for us, we could have come up with a great award for finsxfactor around that mess I’m sure.

those are good ideas. And you’re right, by having the award named after you, you kinda auto-win it in a way. Besides just names of players, you could go anatomical parts of a real Dolphin. Like “Blowhole”, “Dolphin Snout”, “Flipper”, “Dorsal Fin” etc. Nicky is going to have his work cut out, but he’ll take the best of this soup and make something great I’m sure. Hey, just thought of one “The Crowbar Award” for biggest suck up. (lefty inspired) : )

Ok Guys
I’ve thought it over, and I think having the award named for player’s/ex-players/Dolphin legends is a great idea. Not sure which idea I prefer, since like you said Agumen some of the awards are named for clear-cut winners, but many of them would be close votes I think..
for instance, the Finsxfactor Memorial Outburst of the Year Award would be a tight vote.. you obviously have finsx, but Husker has had a few, RZ goes off every now and then, and I know there’s been others who have come outta nowhere to rip into somebody..
But I think we could use the same awards and if we decide to go with players instead of bloggers, I’m pretty sure I could interchange them… So what do you think? Named after players or named after bloggers

I think you go day before the draft
That way it’s in the middle of the offseason and we have something to debate and consider throughout the off season.
Ooooo…ooo…idea….
First of the year you start a nominations thread, one for each award.
Pro Bowl you announce the finalists, based on comments on the nomination threads…3 or 5 or 7 or whatever nominees per award
Day before the draft is the “awards show” post. Or, week leading up to the draft you slowly post the awards so it’s kinda dramatic and all…

one week. during the offseason. sometime in late Feb to early Mar when nothing is happening. Vote for a couple weeks before that, and then Matty can give out 1-2 awards per day and we can all come up with acceptance speeches and the like lol
basically a giant time killer when Dolphins talk is notoriously slow

Addition to the greatest idea i have ever come up with...
i know a dude that makes shirts….i was lookin at his books…and a simple shirt is cheap when bought in batches of over 10. i will put up most the flow…but i can start a paypal account? never did it…but over 5 buck donation gets u a shirt id bet….just an idea.

how about the Live Game Commentator award?
i mentioned this in another thread, but i cannot tell you guys how helpful it is when someone on the blog actually calls the games that i dont get to see…yeah, Gamecenter is ok, but sometimes they have mistakes….i’m talking gut wrenching, ‘time to commit suicide’ type mistakes… and once it makes a mistake it takes at least 5 minutes before they sort it out too… i’ve seen miami TD’s come up as safties for the other team…. ive seen 90 yrd completions for the other team…. turned into Miami 1st down inside the opp. 10… so even if the blog isn’t faster than gamecenter [which it almost always is] it still saves some serious undeserved cardiac stress thru verification that ‘’my world did NOT just end…" …RZ has called most of the games on this site, so i’d say he has a commanding lead for that award, but in any case, it really is appreciated, so 1000 ty’s.
