Giving Thanks at the Holiday Season - Dolphins Edition

Since it's Holiday time, and since the Dolphins are giving me more happiness since the Lamar Smith days (I can't believe i just referenced him), I thought I'd acknowledge some people who made this season possible.

A special thank you to:

1) Bill Parcells, for spurning the Atlanta Falcons and coming to South Florida.

2) the Dallas Cowboys, for trading away Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele for 10 cents on the dollar.

3) the New York Jets, for firing his Holiness, Chad Pennington, and setting up a day of karma as CP10 comes back to the Meadowlands and avenges the Midnight Miracle of 2000.

4) the entire NFL, for not drafting Davone Bess.

5) Ricky Williams, for staying off the crack pipe and being a big contributor to our team.

Star-divide

6) Jeff Ireland, for drafting Jake Long, and not Vernon Gholston or Glenn Dorsey.

7) Patrick Cobbs, who, in 2018, we'll be referring to as the longest tenured Dolphin.

8) all the 2007 Miami Dolphin leftovers, for believing.

9) all the NFL community, for not.

10) Tony Sparano, for instilling a new culture and identity, and for re-establishing this franchise to it's rightful place of prominence in the NFL.  Our fins are a team to be reckoned with again.

the Washington Redskins for giving us a 2nd and 6th pick for Jason Taylor. Although I love JT this will help our team in the future big time. This has also allowed some great young players get an opportunity like Matt Roth and Charlie Anderson.

You Forgot the Main One..

Wayne H.

If it weren’t for him really reaching out to Parcells, what would this year have brought?

yep

I’ve been critical of him before, but at least he helped get this team turned around before he rode off into the sunset.

#12 Matty and the Phinsider community

You guys have made this one of the best football seasons ever. Excellent analyasis and breaking news stories to keep us all well informed dolphins fans. With so many great personalities( too many to name, I would hate to forget someone) contributing, its such a good place to come just for a laugh sometimes, Its been a pleasure to chat with you guys. We still have some unfinished business to attend to this weekend so let the ride continue……

Good list

you could probably go to 100 and still have leftovers. There’s alot to be thankful for as a Dolphins fan this season. We should all make sure we don’t forget the feeling we all have right now, because there’s no room for depression once the ride is over. This team has done everything we could’ve asked for and more.

there's always more than ten...

But I didn’t want to write all day. Good additional posts though!!! I definitely thank the Redskins because the 2nd round pick is going to be higher than we thought, and of course H. Wayne for, as always, for closing the deal on Parcells.

It’s been an amazing ride. Yes, we have flaws, but here we are talking about very meaningful Fins/Jets games in December. Can’t get better than that. I hope the players give CP10 a gatorade bath after the game.

Dan is better with a cast on his leg than half the quarterbacks in the league, including me.

one more

Thanks to the DB coaches, any one else notice how the DB’s are getting there hands in to break up passes. That is not what was happening at the begining of the season so I have to give props to the coaching staff for bringing them along nicely.

Good point

they’ve done a great job improving this secondary throughout the year. After the Arizona game, we all thought the entire secondary needed to be rehauled. Now, I think we can safely say we may only need 1 immediate starter and a corner that can push for playing time (I’m being optimistic). Goodman has improved his play immensely, we’ve actually been able to use Jason Allen for good stretches, and Yeremiah Bell has earned an extension, which will be coming soon, hopefully.

yep

it was that AZ game where even W. Allen had good coverage but failed to get his hands up to knock down the pass. I remember when we pick him up, the grip on him was poor hands, well after that intercept against Buf. in the end zone I don’t think they can say that any longer. But it was Goodman’s performance this week that struck the thought in my mind. Come a long way!
Jests are gonna be in for a surprise!

wow

Read This Story.

I figured this would be a good place to post this story. Moved me nearly to tears. I think we should be thankful that people like this still exist in this world.
