Shawn Murphy and Such....
First comes first, what happened to our fourth round pick, Shawn Murphy. Draft day we traded lorenzo booker to obtain him, and now he is inactive every week. We continually sign new guards to take his place, instead of giving him a chance. Is is really that bad? In some ways this reminds of how Cam Cameron treated Jason Allen. Allen had to wait until 3rd string type safeties got injured (think cameron worrell) before he was offered a chance to play. While he did give up the occasional deep pass, I do recall a game in which he had 2 interceptions which flashed a small amount of his potential.
Just out of curiosity, did anyone happen to read the ESPN article about revolutionizing the NFL offenses. In case you missed it, heres the link ,ESPN Article. These hybrid type offenses have already shown they can give an inferior team an advatage over a physically dominating team. With that being said, if a guy like Tim Tebow is available in lets say, the 3rd or 4th round, is he worth a shot. Imagine running the wildcat offense, but with a running back who is a very good passer (Tebow). The possibilities are endless.
Well it was nice to post again guys, and I look forward to hearing some thoughts on the topics above.

Give it some time...
Shawn Murphy was not picked as an NFL ready lineman and there were no expectations that he would start immediately. I suppose if the Dolphins were 1-15 again, then he probably would have gotten some playing time at least. He is extremely raw, getting playing time for Utah State only because they were terrible.
However, he has shown signs of being a quick study, being able to start as a LT and then LG even though he was converted from the defensive line. He has good size (6-4 315) and seems to have some athleticism.
In preseason, he was getting physically manhandled, so I think the real test is to see if he can show anything in his second year after an off-season of weight-lifting. If he seems slow to develop, then I think he could be labeled a bust. He doesn’t have a reputation for being lazy, which is a really good thing. For a fourth round pick, that is not such a disaster, especially since they got Ayodele and Fasano for the other fourth rounder and you could trade off Bess as a free agent pickup, worth at least a fourth round pick so there’s really no loss if Murphy doesn’t work out.
