NOBODY is talking about our Phins

So I was wasting time watching Football last night, after I won the football pool at my office for the first time (thanks ATL, PIT, DEN, but I still hate you) and I don't know if anyone else was watching but I could have sworn I heard Chris Collinsworth say "New York has the AFC East locked up."  Plus when they were talking about the AFC East, not one mention about the Dolphins.  They talked about how NYJ and NE fell and that was about it.

Then watching Sportscenter this morning with our good pal Chris Berman talking about the playoff hunt and how New England is very much in it still despite their loss, but no talk about the Fins.

So what the fuck?  Are we the only people smart enough to see that our boys have a shot?  According to Matty (who is a very unbiased, reliable source) we own the tiebreakers if we run the table the rest of the season.  So where is the love from the national networks?  No love? No problem.  I guess the Dolphins will have to win this thing to shut these high priced piece of shit so called football experts up, huh guys?

I am very excited about this season, and if we make the playoffs, I don't know how I will react.

Yes we're nobodies

Didn’t you know Chris Berman is the man and unless you are out drinking Mai Tai’s with him, you’re nobody? (I am being sarcastic I hope people know that)

Just bias reporting

It is well known Chris Berman doesn’t like Miami. Of course they are gonna talk about NE and NYJ look where ESPN is located. Its sad to say but, Farve was always a great QB but he became god to them when he went to NY. It is really sad. And NE, well could they and the commish stick their heads up their @ss anymore?

Good thing for us, they don’t need to talk about us to win. Matter of fact I perfer they didn’t talk about us. Last time they did they started talking about our lack of injuries 2 week ago and we’ve seen where that has gotten us.

Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

Thats Good

I like that know one talks about us….. and that is the best thing for the Fish when we make the playoffs and win the AFC-East then they will understand that we are going to be the team to beat in the AFC-East for years to come.

you know what's awesome about this article?

it is just factual. it isn’t even “love”, it just acknowledges what the Fins are doing. :)

No Talk = Afraid of us

why??, because we are the dark horse in the AFC, maybe a “little weak” but just for them.
they are afraid, because they know that we can lose to any team, BUT we can WIN to any team also, and a 7-5 record……….and still in the hunt,…….. talks for himself….

Collinsworth was good

before he got to NBC, now he just spouts off anything because they don’t give him enough talk time to make a valid point, what with 19 studio hosts on that show.

They’ve turned him into one of the Around The Horn guys, just screaming ridiculous things to try and get a word in.

ESPN won’t recognize Miami for anything other than the Wildcat. And that’s fine. I’m sure we would all like to see stories on our Dolphins, but we don’t need biased ESPN to make us feel good about our team. We know the real story, and I would expect somebody like John Clayton to point out the tiebreakers if every AFCE teams wins out and it comes down to the Dolphins/Jets in week 17.

I agree 100%

especially about Collinsworth……..I like that noone is talking about us…..Less pressure on our guys…..I was watching ESPN this morning and I didn’t hear one mention of Smiley injury. They may not be talking about us now but come week 17 everyone will be talking about us……

I think those are both good points

You right fuck ‘em if they can’t take a joke

Like New England sucks balls!!!!

I say let them keep talking about someone else

We don’t need their respect. I don’t want it. It let’s our guys go out each and every week and prove something.

Eventually they will talk about us. But only after we do what we did in Week 3 to the Golden Boy led Pats.

The problem also is:

While we may be winning, we’ve barely been beating the low to mediocre teams recently. I know a W is a W, but the media see’s us as winning because of our easy schedule. If we were blowing these easy ass teams out of the water the media would be talking about us with the playoffs more often also. The problem is while we may control our own destiny, the Jets control their own destiny also.

by Wade on Dec 1, 2008 6:48 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

That's true

and the media still thinks we’re just a gimmicky “Wildcat” team… like that’s all we run. The announcers Sunday (Gus Johnson especially, who I love) kept commenting on how we weren’t using the Wildcat, like its our whole offense.

Do you think...

that while the coaches and team are focused on avoiding the media ‘snubbery’ distractions…the VP of Football Operations upstairs (fresh off his stint as an ESPN talking head) is more focused than ever to make the Miami Dolphins an unavoidably positive media topic?

I believe, however this year plays out, this regime is hell bent on building the Dolphins franchise back to it’s elite roots.

It's Division winners or bust!

I know it may sound crazy but we have an easier road (and a better shot) at winning the division then we do at getting a wildcard spot. If we win out the rest of our schedule, it’s simple, we win the division.. this is all thanks to New England AND the Jets losing on Sunday…thanks guys! because up to that point we could have won out and still not have won the division or gotten the wildcard..we need both Balt and Indy to lose two more and that’s with us not getting another loss.. that’s why it’s basically, division or bust! Win out and the division is ours…lose even one game and the division is likely gone and almost certainly the wildcard is unreachable unless two teams (either N.E, Balt, Indy) totally self-destruct the rest of the way out..

And this is the best situation to be in..controlling our own destiny to win the division title..I don’t think we could have asked for more fellow Phins fans.. let’s enjoy this run we’re on…either way it’s been an amazing season and it’s not over yet.. one at a time.. and Buff, your date with destiny is next…dinner is served! ..the specialty, filleted buffalo!

I can't see Indy or Baltimore blowing it

But I sure can see NY

NE I don’t know about

As long as our Phins win, everything will take care of itself!!!
