Matt Jones responds to Joey's comments..
Joey Porter loves him some Joey Porter. And while it might seem that he's been especially loquacious this season now that the Dolphins are 4-4 and he's leading the league in sacks ... well, that's probably pretty accurate. Miami was 1-15 last year; even if Porter was flapping his gums, nobody was listening.
Not the case in 2008; Mr. Peezy has already proclaimed Brandon Marshall "soft," and wondered why Matt Jones, arrested for cocaine possession earlier this year, has yet to be punished by the league.
Marshall responded to Porter on Tuesday, and Jones took time out from not getting suspended to respond today.
"I don't even know why he's even thinking about me," Jones said. "I mean, maybe he likes other men and sits up and thinks about stuff, so I don't know. ... Is Joey Porter the commissioner? Then why would I even worry about it?"
All fair questions, particularly the first one. Why Porter cares about Jones is something of a mystery, since the Dolphins don't face the Jags this season, and more importantly, most people in the league don't even know who Jones is. I take Porter's point, though -- that the league is quick to fine him $20,000 for criticizing officials but sanctions for other, often more serious offenses seem arbitrary.
It appears that way, Joey, because that's exactly what's happening. But don't bring Matt into this, it's a buzzkill, frankly.

Typical
criminal playing the “victim”. Hey Matt…maybe dont cut up coke in the backseats of cars and then you can complain. You should be suspended..Joey speaks the truth. a guy hits Boldin wrong and gets suspened……but a cop sees u cutting up coke in ur lap and you are aloud to play 8 games already.

While I agree with Porter's assessment
it’ s not really his place to make these kinds of comments. Especially a guy like him who has had his own issues with the law. Trash talk all you want Peazy, just keep the off-field issue stuff to yourself… and keep throwing QBs down too while your at it..
The Jayfiss Report ...one fan's rants
I think Joey is making it a Race issue
How many black players would be playing with that type of charge, which happened over the summer, still being in the appeal process halfway through the season? I’m sure there’s more to the story but it doesn’t look good and I understand why Joey brought it up. I mean think about it, this guy was caught sitting in his car cutting up coke…..not rolling a joint or having a open container in the car but Coke…….How about the O lineman for the patriots who got caught up in a sting operation with the FBI, he didn’t get suspended because he ended up helping the FBI after the fact……what about before you new you were dealing with the FBI when you tried to buy those drugs? I will say I am not a fan of Goodell, is it about Race? I don’t know but I can see why Joey brought it up…I’m sure the players talk about it among themselves…….
70% of the league is Black
Obviously the majority of players getting fined are going to be black. It’s not racism, it’s a numerical certainty: the larger the population the larger the probability for fines and suspensions.
Anyways, the league can’t go around suspending players who have are presumed innocent, by law, because of the situations they wind up in. They have to be proven guilty, the NFL just can’t assume they are.
Remember when Marvin Harrison was thought to have shot some guy pre-season? Not suspended. Why, because no one was sure he shot the guy. And as it turned out I don’t think he did.
Then again, their are guys like Pacman Jones who have a record. We can assume they are getting into more trouble when their name pops up onto the screen for whatever action he may have done or been involved in.

No one is saying Blacks get fined to much
I agree its not racism but it does look from the surface that Matt Jones is being treated differently. So I understand why Joey is talking shit.
The League does go around suspending players who have not been proven guilty yet. Its the new Personal conduct policy put in by Goodell. That is why Matt Jones was suspended for 3 games, but he is appealing his suspension, all before his case has been completed. If he test postitive for drugs while he is in the courts drug program he will serve jail time.
Marvin Harrison was never charged with anything……..that is why he didn’t violate this policy. He was questioned and thats it. Matt Jones was charged with a Felony and avoided a trial by entering a first time offender drug program.
Pac man Jones is a guy who should not be allowed back in the league IMO His 9 lives are over.
All I’m saying is I hear ya Joey………..

Is all publicity good publicity?
I’m not so sure. I like the under the radar Dolphins, I don’t like the Joey Porter ‘lets talk smack to teams we don’t play this year’ attitude.
Another question:
Matt Jones questioned Joe’s sexuality, Marshall questioned Joe’s nightclub shirtless dancing (which I’m pretty sure isn’t true… is it?), why are they all questioning Joey Porter’s hetero-credentials?
NFL weird.
