Dolphins release Derek Hagan
In 2006, Nick Saban made Derek Hagan a 3rd round draft pick. And on this night, Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, and company have decided that enough is enough.
Hagan has been released by the Dolphins, ending his 3 year career with just 53 catches for 645 yards, and 3 touchdowns. But this season, Hagan has only been active for 4 games and had just 3 catches.
The release of Hagan will save the Dolphins $353,250 in '09 cap space.
Now if we could only undo the signing of Ernest Wilford.
Hat tip to Rzayo24 for posting this while I was watching the election coverage.

i think he's busy
I heard Palin is free. maybe she could be a fins cheerleader.
I would have...
I would have prefer to have E. Wilford release and save more cap space than releasing Hagan. Just my two cents.
wouldn't really be saving more cap space...
…because the Dolphins would still have to pay his $6 million in guaranteed money.
If my math is right, it would actually be a wash – saving $6 million over the next 3 seasons (08: 1.5 mil, 09: 2 mil, 10: 2.5 mil) but having to eat his $6 million guaranteed now rather than over 3 years.
good logistics matty

Who's coming in?
Someone from the practice squad making the step up?
Or is there some free agent out there that has been missed?
Ideas anyone.
Give me some Anthony Armstrong
we could use some more speed..

Good idea...
Anthony Armstrong would make sense, he could probably do a job on Special Teams as well.
Anybody knows what happened to Jayson Foster?
one of the last cuts
I think his size ended up being a dealbreaker for Parcells and co…

I don't think he's powerful enough
the Wildcat really is just a power run disguised as a shotgun set. Foster would make it more versatile, but he would take away from the basis of it I think.

$353 dollars. you can buy 35 Duante Culpepper Dolphins jerseys with that.
He was
the only guy on the Fins from my alma mater, Arizona State.
Ah well. It was coming sooner or later.
Seriously?
Intrestingly enough
Shortly after he was released, he won the North Carolina Senate seat,.
"How can I blame you
When it's me I can't forgive?"

hahahaha
I was thinking that too.
Too bad for Elizabeth Dole, huh? But seriously, I’d rather have (Derek) Hagan as my Senator than anyone named Dole. lol
I love when Family Guy
has Bob Dole fall asleep while mumbling his own name… hilarious
