Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

just got back from the game

First off I am disappointed about the loss but it was such an awesome game. This was my first phins game in miami (i live in tampa and ive seen them play the bucs here) and it exceeded my expectations immensely. this team played very hard. they gave it their all. i could see it. they were just beat by a better team.

this season has exceeded all of our expectations. everyone told me i was too optimistic for thinking 7 or 8 wins but we will most likely get that plus some. we should be proud of our team. i know i am.

I am also proud of the fans. Porter asked for the fans to come out and they did. it wasnt 100% packed but it was prob 90-95. the 12th man is back in miami and hopefully it will stay and get stronger as the wins pile up. The place was rockin after the 'sticky icky" ricky td catch. the pats got the ball and it got so loud in there. the energy at that time was so great and so strong. i felt such a rush. it was amazing. the 12th man may not have made much of a difference today seeing as the pats just took the ball right down the field but eventually it will make a difference.

so in closing, i had one of the best times of my life and i have no voice cuz of it. i will def be going to this game every year with my best bro, Dave. hes a damn pats fan though and he wasnt the only one around me. my whole section was pats fans. i was surrounded by massholes but the game still rocked. Go Phins!!

peace

I love hearing that about the fans.

I had a similar experience at my first home game – Denver on a Monday night – Elway vs Marino. It’s such an awesome experience when it’s a big match with superstars involved and the fans are going nuts. You can’t beat it.

Football isn't a matter of life and death - it's far more important than that.

Awesome

Glad you enjoyed it! When that stadium gets going, it get LOUD. It’s something we have been missing the last few year (I can’t figure out why ;).

You and all of the rest of the crowd sounded great on TV, so it was probably even better at the stadium. Especially the “FIRST DOWN” yell. That was great.

Hopfeully this is the first of many, many, many noisey, rocking games at the Phin.

(Don’t ask me why I called it that….I don’t know)

Thanks for sharing

and glad you had a good time. As I said in Ohiofinfans post, I really like hearing these stories from those who get to go.
