How do you stay composed?

I really have been freaking out all week. Every time I think about this Sunday, I am borderline about to lose it. I am so scared of this game. If we win, we get the tie for first and pretty much can have control of our own destiny. If we lose, it will be tough to come back. This is the biggest game for the Dolphins for as long as I can remember. Yes we are at home and yes we wrecked them last time but that team has really improved and it is hard to sweep the Pats. How do you keep your mind off it all!?!?

i was wondering the same thing earlier tonight
i was wondering if everyone is as crazy about this game as I am. you ever meet a great girl, have a nice hot date and then she’s all you think about for the week. well that is what this game is like. Its the first thing i think about when i wake up, last thing before going to bed. while i am driving, while i am at work, while taking a dump, while running over a patriots fan in my car, etc….
you would think i was the owner of the damn team. its like a borderline obsession, except ive crossed the border. maybe the nfl should be outlawed like cocaine.

It’s been a looooonnnng week… so slow.. I’m so pumped and so excited about the game but at the same time I’m on edge and ancy.. I just want to get to this damn game! Normally long weeks come after a loss,etc.. but not this one.. so much build up and in the back of my mind “the letdown” is there as a possibility.. I’m staying positive and think (and speaking) we’ll win but I hate the thought of next week if things don’t go our way on Sunday..

I'm very anxious
This game could go one of two ways. A huge win that sets us up for great things, or a huge letdown. Either way, I just want it to get here!
I’m worried about this game. Even more so than I was for the Ravens game (I knew they would come in mad at us for being the only team to lsoe to us last year). This game is going ot be crazy!
What is the atmosphere like in Miami – for any of you in Miami? Are people talking about it? Are people excited? Does it seem like we are going to have a good turn out?

Good turn out
put it this way… The youth league I coach with has a league-wide fundraiser selling Dolphins-49ers tickets for a discount. The Dolphins just closed the door and refunded all the money from the fundraiser because they are selling that game out completely and don’t need to sell tix discounted. They actually turned away fans because of the demand for tickets for that game. Against SanFran. I can’t imagine how many people will be there Sunday.

Just Freakin Happy
I have been freaking out all week but then I realize that not in my wildest of dreams did I ever think I would be feeling this way this year. I don’t really remember having feelings like this becuase usually by now I’m looking at scouting reports of players that are coming out in next years draft.
I am just excited for this game and want to remember this for along time because hopefully we will be in this type of situation every year from now on.
Win or Lose we have already won … although Winning means the dream can continue on

I have been trying to keep myself from getting my hopes up. Every win at this point is gravy, to 4-6 I thought we would have , but I guess it’s finally wrapped me up in it. The AFC East Championship is right there. Now we just have to grab it!
But, I guess we are setting ourselves up to feel, if we don’t win the AFC East or make the playoffs, that we failed. That cannot be good. We are so much better than last year, we need make sure we keep an eye on that and just enjoy each success as we get it.

we can’t fail this year. It’s already a success. As far as I’m concerned, we exceeded expectations, installed a winning culture, found a great coach, and ended up about a year ahead of schedule in our rebuilding effort. Playoffs, division titles, a 10-win season, all bonuses now.

i see where your coming from
but at the same time, this year is a golden opportunity.
there is no real powerhouse in the AFC this year. there is no high powered colts offense. brady is out. there is nobody that is just head and shoulders above everyone else. yes the Titans are undefeated, but are you saying the fins couldn’t beat them in the playoffs. I bet if we played the Titans 10 times, we would win 3 or 4 of them. so if we do play them in the playoffs, we just have to make sure we get the first one. lol.
Pittsburgh, the current #2 seed isnt that great. their OL is succeptable to the sack.
If all goes right, Miami could end up with the 2 seed in the playoffs. that means we host a divisional game, which the home team wins like 75% of the time. that means the AFC championship game is in reach.
Yes we didnt expect any of this, but at the same time these opportunities are rare. we may be a better team next year, but have less wins because we will be playing the NFC South instead of the pathetic NFC East. We also play the AFC south next year whcih means games against the colts, titans, and texans. so we are going to have a much tougher schedule than this year.
so while i am super excited about this year, i just may be dissapointed if we dont go far because its not often the stars align in your favor. and when they do, you have to be ready to take advantange, no matter what you were doing a year ago.

And yeah, this is definitely the year to be a sleeper team in the AFC. Man… if we end up hosting a playoff game, or get a bye, or end up in the AFC Championship/Super Bowl.. talk about a cinderella story..

I just don’t want to put myself in the position where I forget what we were last year and expect us to make it far. I don’t want to be disappointed by this team – they are too far ahead of schedule to let meyself build expectations that are unreachable.
Hopefully they keep it up…but I won’t be disappointed at the end of the year, no matter what!
It’s been a glorious ride thus far. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

IMO a lost isn't the end
of the world as long as the Jets get beat by Tenn, This game is more important to NE, if they lose they are behind the 8 ball with a couple of tough games left on the schedule. If we win I think we have a great shot of winning the Division and doing something once we get into the playoffs. I’m excited to see how we will respond to a big game.
