Other things at stake
are free agents will be more willing to be signed by us next year with the way we are playing. Even if we do not finish first it will reatly inprove our chances of landing some good if not great players. I know that many think that build thru the draft is more important and I also agree but there are many free agents to be had. My first post by the way but have been reading for a long time. I live in and was born in Michigan but lived in Florida when I was young (1970's) that is how I became a Dolphin fan. The first football team I played on was called the dolphins.

Hey man, welcome aboard as well
Hell yea…..I’ve said this before, other FA’s are going to be like turkeys sticking there heads up when they hear a loud sound with what the Dolphins are doing. They will be looking Miami way, wanting to be part of this team and what possibilities it may present for them. Which hopefully means taking a little less. I still believe there are players out there, who have plenty, who will take a contract reduction to be part of something great.
Very true, and good first post!

Good post!!!
I agree, The Tuna has a rep for paying good contracts to guys he want. Look at the deal he offered Pace last yr as an example. He won’t over pay but won’t rip guys off and then throw in the warm weather and a organization that is committed to winning now and will have good players on the roster at every position. The best thing of all is we have a ton of cap space so players won’t have to worry about asking to restructure or take a pay cut to fit under the cap. Miami will be one of the Top 3 places to be in 2009 if your a FA.

forgot other free agents(for now)..what about OUR OWN free agents coming due this year!!
I know there will be some big fish out there to land and yes, there is more liklihood now that some may want to come here but we have to take care of in-house first and lock up the likes of Crowder, Camarillo and Y.Bell..plus others….then have a good draft…and hopefully grab a good/great FA or two! .. definitely a receiver and then likely d-line/o-line.. and work our way from there..

Agreed,
I think that’s exactly what the FO is doing. They just locked up Camirillo, there talking to YB people, they already reupped Cobb. The more I see of Crowder the more I hope they get him done. Carey will be the interesting one…..I wonder if he gets his money or hits the FA market?
