Dolphins vs Chargers: Prediction Time!

PrintIt's time once again to make your picks. But before you do, below are 10 "expert" picks for this Chargers/Dolphins rumble down in Miami:

There are some believers out there, aren't there? Mortensen's pick, in particular, is interesting only because he's 41-19 on the season. Good omen? Bad omen? Eh, who cares.
Well how about my pick? Keep in mind that I'm 2-1 here on the season in picking Dolphin games (yes, that's me tooting my horn). Of course, I've picked the Dolphins to lose in each game so far - so it's not like I've gone out on a limb. So how about this week? Well...
I think that Miami's offense is going to be able to move the ball on San Diego's defense. I think Ronnie Brown could be in store for a very solid game - and, coupled with Ricky - will help the Dolphins run for 130 or 140 yards. However, I think the best thing going for the Dolphins will be that Jyles Tucker - Shawne Merriman's replacement and a very under-rated player in his own right - may not play. This should provide a boost to Miami's pass protection and allow Chad Pennington the time to find his receivers - and more importantly, his tight ends down the middle of the field.
On defense, I'm confident that the Dolphins will get pressure on Philip Rivers. And I think the front 7 will be able to contain the running attack of San Diego - led by LT2. As long as the "D" can prevent giving up the big play and Miami's coverage units can limit Darren Sproles in the return game, I have a feeling that the Dolphins might just pull this one out in Dolphin Stadium.
So I'll take the Dolphins this week, pulling out a close one, 23 - 20.

ALRIGHT picking the Phins to win for the first time, good for you!
I’m not gonna make a prediction yet, BUT I will say watch a couple numbers on offense or especially SP – 19 and 15. Oddly enough I got a feeling that these guys will be a big factor in the out come of this game.

phins are gonna terrorize rivers….i smell a joey porter breakout to all pro status this week….2 more sacks.
Fasano….huge game. this man is our franchise tight end people…..wadda steal!

i predict a wildcat variation….bet on ricky getting the ball….and throwing it to the opposite side to wilford or martin.
1 turnover all year. chargers have forced 8 turnovers…and turned that into 51pts! they do capitalize…must keep the low turnover trend going to win
linebackers must play their gaps…both these runningbacks will cut back on you and house it.
watch for the wildcat from the chargers….itd just be to cute to beat us with it….they cant resist watch.
tedd ginn was a all state high school qb. if they are smart he will get a tim tebow package in there sometime soon.

Sorry, cant make the prediction of Miami 30 San Diego 26...
…because if I do, then Miami will probably win it 17-7 instead. And I need better stats than that would imply for my Fantasy Football team.
I DO predict that Chambers will head to the Dolphins sideline at least once.
I also predict that Al Davis will attempt to fire Norv Turner after the game for cause, even though he’s not Al’s head coach.
I also predict a cheerleader will pop out of her top once in front of the camera (okay, that’s more of a wish)

I want to believe, but San Diego is really fricking good. Way too many weapons on offense for us to keep up. King and Mort are overvaluing a win over a greatly weakened NE team and imagining that Parcells can turn shit into gold in four games. I’m not buying it. Prove me wrong, playas!

The success with the Wildcat last week makes fans overconfident, forgetful of first 2 games. Chargers are very good, and win comfortably.

Everyone here needs to get real
The Chargers are a top 5 rated team in the NFL right now. The teams they lost to were high quality teams. Now with that being said, Its all going to come down to the play calling this game. Does Dan Henning go conservative or balls to the wall. If we play conservative we get killed, if we play balls to the wall we could just maybe pull one out against a very good Chargers offense.
The chargers are missing Merriman, Their TE, they are playing the fins at home, and they are losing 3 hours due to the time change
