Countdown Clock

Hey this is beck4mercy here. I have a question/comment/complaint/trying to get word count up,

Is the countdown clock right or is it off by 3 hours? This countdown clock I am talking about it found on the phinsider homepage on the left side. Can anyone confirm this or is it just because I live on the west coast or something?... It looks like it's 3 hours behind and it was last week, but I decided to point it out this week. Because the countdown is either counting down to the end of the game or it's set to a 4:00 et game or something.

Hopefully I am right otherwise I will sound not very smart.

The clock appears to be right for me...

…but I’m in the eastern time zone. Perhaps the timezone difference has something to do with it.

What does it read for you? I’ll use your post time to check if I think it’s still wrong, but it’s probably some timezone thing.

I guess I should have thought twice before creating my profile's name.

in like 10 minutes...

…it’ll be 4:00 eastern. At that time, the countdown will say 3 days and 21 hours – which is correct.

Right now it’s 17 minutes until 4:00pm pdt and it says 3 days 21 hours and 16 minutes. Whatever. It’s probably out of your power.

You might be set for pacific standard time instead of eastern.

I’m guessing you’re not on eastern time.

OK.... so if the Jacksonville Jaguars are known as the "Jags" and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are known as the "Bucs," what does that make the Tennessee Titans?

Same here in the UK

I think the countdown clock adjusts to whatever timezone your computer is set to, so being in the UK, its 5 hours ahead at all times.
It can be a bit annoying but I’ve learnt to just wait for the game thread to come up before I have to keep watch.

It would be really useful if..

the clock just referred to the time zone of the team on the central server or something like that, instead of basing it upon the time zone of the computer that is looking at it.
At best its being lazy, at worst its assuming that only local people look at a teams website which as we’ve proved many times at phinsider just is not the case.
