Another trade idea
First of all we need for Matt Ryan to have a killer senior bowl week and knock out combine/college day workout. For us to have any chance to trade down, which I think we all agree, is best for this team.He has to come thru so that some one in the top 5 thinks we will take that QB with the top pick. It is already going around that our front office is intrested in Matt Ryan which helps. It just might be better if Bryan Brohm was in this mix also.
It is known that Arthur Blank will move up (to get his guy) and pay the price to do so because he did before with Mike Vick.
Ok, now the Falcons get pick #4 (because of the coin toss) and trade up to our spot to take Matt. We get their first (#4), their 2nd (#35), and their 3rd (#68). We then trade the Falcons #4 pick to Dallas for their 2 first rounders and their 2nd in 09.
Now what we have is two first #20 and 30, 3 seconds #33 #35 and #50, and two thirds #65 and #68 which gives us 7 picks in the first 68 players picked plus an 2009 second round pick. After all said and done we will be about 300 points short but 3 picks this year and 1 pick in 09 ahead.
So what do you think?

I think
Just take long with the first pick and work on the OL, which will make next seasons starting QB that much better.

I agree
That could really solidfy our OL for years to come. Cure this disease thats been hampering our offense for years. Imagine a OL that can open holes for the RB constantly and actually provide some protection for our QB to be productive. I know it's hard since we haven't had a OL like that for over a decade, but still try please.

exactly
Get the bruiser at LT and put carey someplace the where the speed guys wont just say OLE as they pass him by and maybe we might find a QB who can be successful.

Tonight....
Zach was free to move around, make plays. Now he sits concussed and out for the season. Imagine if we had taked Okoye last year and Jake Long this year. Would be a lot different i'm quite sure of that. Nonetheless, we are here at the number one pick, and we get to watch our potential 1st pick showcase exactly who and what he is.
Let's see how his motor runs, i want to see how he reacts in crucial situations, and what kind of heart he has, and if he is a leader or not. we need help on our line in the worst way. and you have to give it to Starkist Parcells, he has a nose for sniffing out GREAT defensive players in the draft!!!!
Peace out-Go DORSEY#72!!!!!!

Dorsey?
John Beck and Ronnie Brown growing behind a young and talented offensive line like that (hopefully including a resigned Rex Hadnot) would put our offense in a great place. You could focus on the defense with the draft and 1 or 2 years down the road when the Dolphins are competing at a higher level look for some plug and play receivers in free agency.
As far as trading goes, in a way it's too bad we got Parcells because after he takes all the Cowboys staff Jerry Jones will be a lot less likely to want to deal with us on the first pick.

Not Bad

Again
The Falcons also will theoretically be only going up one spot, since no one else ahead of them has a chance of drafting a QB. They do have a 25% (2 coin flips) of being the 5th pick. If they are in this position they are probably better off trading with St. Louis.
If they do want to trade with us, considering they are going up "one" position for their QB, I doubt they would give up a 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd. Maybe we could get a 1st, a 2nd, and a 5th.

Dorsey not a 3-4 guy
This guy has a mean streak, plays with passion, and has a fire in his belly like we haven't seen. Again i ask you- Wouldn't it have been better that we took Okoye last year, and then drafted Jake Long this year? We didn't so now we have to go with Dorsey. He was injured yes(but he played through it and still got double-teamed), Okoye was too young, he wasn't a 3-4 guy, but, he did one hell of a job in Houston this year!!!
So to all the Mel Kiper's in here and to everyone who doubts this kid-you'll see. I have been watching him closely for a long time. He doesn't get over-powered at the point of attack, and he has that mean streak that we need. He can instantly come in and plug the middle, and inject some much needed life into this sorry defensive line.
C'mon guys, we need a young stud defensive lineman here if we don't trade down. We all saw how people ran on us this year. It was right up the middle, we knew, and we couldn't do anything about it. Parcells knows how to fix defenses, and this will be the first chip in a hopefully quick rebuilding process.

O Line? or D Line?
I would perfer Long, this guy is our replaceent for Richmon Webb. Our defense needs so much work, and our offense is just a few pieces away. Makes sense to get Long and move on. Ronnie Brown running behind that big Mother F, Touchdown!!!!
