Mike Tice to interview on Monday

Unfortunately, there might actually be something to the St. Paul Pioneer Press report after all.  Scout.com's Dan Leberfeld is reporting that the Miami Dolphins will interview Mike Tice tomorrow for the head coaching job.  Leberfeld also adds this little one line gem in his report:

Bill Parcells, who is now running the Dolphins football operation, has always admired Tice.

Admired Tice?  How could anyone admire Tice?  I guess this is what I get for pondering if a head coach with head coaching experience would be better for this franchise.  I need to be more careful of what I wish for.

Let's all just hope the Cowboys lose today so that Bill's man, Tony Sparano, becomes available.  Hopefully then we can avoid any possibility of Mike Tice being the next Dolphins head coach.

They are just trying not
to make Sparano hiring be so obvious. Tice's name has always been on the Bill's list of people he would like to interview for HC.

Odd
Fox's pregame reporter just gave his rundown on Miami's coaching search, and he didn't even mention Tice.

Say what ya will
about Bill, the "buddy system", etc etc... It seems like the Falcons are my new punching bag, but they keep giving me ammo. At least aren't the Falcons...

FALCONS DIDN'T HAVE FACE-TO-FACE WITH DIMITROFF

A league source tells us that the Falcons hired Tom Dimitroff to be the team's General Manager without the benefit of a face-to-face interview.

Seriously.

Dimitroff will hire the head coach, control the roster, and oversee a nine-figure annual salary cap.  And he didn't have an interview.  At least not where everyone was in the same room.

It's amazing.  After hauling a nine-person committee all over the country to interview candidates for head coach and G.M., the guy who got the most important job in the business has never met the owner.

Go Giants!!!
During tonight's game Jay Glazer reported on FOX that if the Cowboys lose, they(the Dolphins) will bring in Sparano for an interview Monday or Tuesday possibly to conclude his employment. However, even better news was the fact that there was no mention of the name Tice.

for the love of god
why not just bring wanny back!!!!!

Oh, that's right, wanny/spielman were the only guys tice ever got over on.

It is getting to be so hard to phins fan. I can only imagine what its like to be a lions fan, but i'm starting to develop empathy  for them.

I guess in trying to stay positive for the new year.... at least the franchise will have stepped up in comparision to wannyman.

Y'all
probablt seen this alreadt but here's a little something......

"Scout.com's Dan Leberfeld reports Jaguars offensive assistant Mike Tice will interview for the Dolphins' head coaching job on Monday.
Tice is a Long Island native and a good friend of Dolphins VP of football operations Bill Parcells. The former Vikings' head man is considered a dark horse to beat out Cowboys assistant head coach Tony Sparano for the job."

"FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, not Mike Tice, will interview with Miami this week.
No word if Tice is still getting an interview later in the week."

I'd put my money on Jay rather than wahtever Dan has to say. I bet things change by Monday afternoon too at the Dolphins headquarters.
