This game could really get ugly...
...with guys like Chatman, Booker, and Crowder all out of today's game.

Chicken! you know the Fins are going to win!
But you are afraid to pick'em and be wrong. You are just taking the Bills to be safe, so of the Bills win, you are right, but when the Fins win you can say "So i'm wrong... I'm happy to be wrong!" :)

I've got your number!  ;)

(i don't really believe this, but every week, i try to convince myself)

God I hope we win
but it is starting to look a little bit bad with guys like Crowder out : /

AAAAANNNNDDDD TTTEEDDD GIIINNNN!!
Muffs....dammit kinda sums up the season

Who is calling?
Anybody see who is calling what for the phish?

by JC on Dec 9, 2007 1:20 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

and now...
...it's ugly.

At what point do we begin to consider the possibility of Cam getting fired tonight....or maybe even during the game.

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 1:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

So now Beck gets pulled...
...and Cleo needs just 2 plays to get a Dolphins touchdown. Good news: Ted Ginn long ball for 54 yards. Bad news: what does this do to John's confidence.

Should we begin to wonder about Beck's future now?

What does this all mean?

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 1:47 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

first time they threw on first down
of course the play was open - the bills were packing the box on first down.

by W NY Fins Fan on Dec 9, 2007 10:14 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What does this all mean?
Maybe a QB thats not 30 years old with the #1 pick?

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 1:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

beck
was beck hurt? or did they just put lemon in ?

by TheFallOfTroy54 on Dec 9, 2007 1:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

He lost another fumble again
and Cam pulled him. Then the worst thing happened, Lemon lead us on a TD drive. You will have hold a gun to Cam's head to get him to pull Lemon now.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 1:54 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Well
there is another 50+ yard FG. Does a kicker ever miss against us?

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 1:57 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

anyone ever think that
maybe Beck wasnt the answer? I like Beck, but maybe he just isnt the answer.. he played good in two games but no TD played terrible at home, & now at the Bills

blame the  o-line

but maybe thats why lemon has been talkin shit.. the fans wanted beck & thats what they got.

we might need to face the facts.. that maybe Beck wont be the future qb, maybe we passed on Quinn cause he wasnt either.. Ginn has done pretty damn well when given the chance

by Emmett on Dec 9, 2007 2:02 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

just thinking out loud:
how much worse will the Dolphins look if Quinn turns out to be a good one. Ugh!

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 2:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

wished we could
get Aaron Rodgers.. he's still real young & learned from favre & did great coming off the bench against dallas

by Emmett on Dec 9, 2007 2:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

But we also have to remember...
...that we can't say we don't know if Beck is the answer. It's early in his career. What if the Broncos gave up on Elway after his first 4 career starts?

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 2:06 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I agree
All our QBs suck right now. Lemon just threw an INT AGAIN. If we are going to lose can we please at LEAST lose with Beck in so he can learn. HOLY CRAP it pisses me off. Make a decision a FRIGGN STICK WITH IT CAM.

by Rytackle on Dec 9, 2007 2:12 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

but maybe thats why lemon has been talkin shit
Lemon has no room to be talking sh*t. He hasn't fair much better.

I beginning to think we should just start from scratch. Find a proven HC, and take a QB with the #1 overall.

We talked alot about Cowher and Schottenheimer, but what about 2 coaches that might be on the out after this year, Brian Billick of Balitmore and John Fox of Carolina? We any of those 2 be considered "proven enough" for consideration?

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:09 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

See
Good job Cleo and fumbled (even though he recovered) and a INT. Well done.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:12 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

and there's Donte Whitner making a play...
...for the Bills. It's ironic because earlier this week, Brian G from Buffalo Rumblings said in my "5 Good Questions" post that Whitner needed to make more plays. Go figure.

Fire Cam Cameron Now
Do it at half time. Make Capers Interm coach for the remaining of the season.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:14 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

what do you want more?
A Dolphins win or a Patsies loss?

by JC on Dec 9, 2007 2:15 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

So what are our chances against the Ravens?
I think some experts would pick the Dolphins, but not as many as would have before this game.  If our run defense continues to be this bad, Mcgahee will tear us apart.

by Beck4Mercy on Dec 9, 2007 2:16 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Seriously
Its not gonna happen, but our best chance to win a game would to fire Cam and see if the players rally behind the interm coach like they did after Whanny left. I don't think we can win with Cameron.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Well done Cam
it only took you 20 minutes to get blown out this time. I think this beats your previous record.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:16 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

And now
we are getting blown out by 24, playing a QB who isn't gonna be here after this year, with our rookie QB on the sidelines, not knowing what to do with the #1 overall pick.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i was just saying
that maybe that was why he was talking shit..

he sucks ass but maybe he was doing better than beck in pratice

cant compare beck to elway..

but you see all our "pick ups" doing good elsewhere..  i mean Sage Rosnefals??

we need a new owner who wants to WIN not please his buddies..

I agree

New everything.. & we have the #1 pick to deal with.. an extra #2, lost a #5 for trent.. but Trent could have went either way

by Emmett on Dec 9, 2007 2:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

If cam took Beck out
because he wasn't taking care of the ball, whats his reason for keeping Lemon in there? He is been in for 5 series, which resulted in 2 fumbles and 2 ints.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:32 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yea but at least
Cleo is completing passes, i guess.

I know one thing. I'm going to have to eat crow on the whole Cleo thing. The Cleo lovers are going to really give it to me. Oh well.

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 2:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

In fact
I just checked my e-mail and I've already gotten 4 e-mails calling me a "dumbass" and saying that Cleo is good and Beck is terrible. How fun!

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 2:36 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

7 /13 for 105 yards 0 TDs 2 Ints
with 2 fumbles is hardly good. He lucked up and 1 deep pass, thats been about it.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 2:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

rest assured
Beck might not be any good, but Cleo IS terrible, and no team will ever win with him as a starting QB. He is easily the worst QB to play for the fins since Ray Lucas.

by W NY Fins Fan on Dec 9, 2007 10:18 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

No crow eating
necessary, Matty. Both our QBs are struggling because our offensive line has been horrendous. The reason Cleo seems to look more fluid is 2 fold.

#1. The Bills prepped all week for Beck
#2. It's obvious that Cam is opening the playbook a lot deeper for Cleo than for Beck.

But Buffalo seems to have recovered from that one long pass Cleo connected on, where his mobility helped create the play. Since then, he's gone back to looking like his same old self.

by The Dude on Dec 9, 2007 2:43 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Dude
you read my mind. I was just about to write how the Dolphins have opened up the offense a bit more with Cleo and that's why he has looked better than Beck has recently.

by Emmett on Dec 9, 2007 2:43 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Hagan
He still dropped that potential TD pass from Cleo that hit him right in his hands. When you can get 2 hands on the ball, you have to catch it. It's that simple.

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 2:47 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

very true
he needs some stick'em like in The Replacements

by Emmett on Dec 9, 2007 2:57 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I think that Cleo should be the man.
It seems a little phishy to me that Cleo Lemon has been running his mouth and probably at the same time turning the team against Beck.  I hope Cleo wins this game and I hope Beck gets dumped.

I remember how shitty Steve Young looked when he played for Tampa and the team and fans quit on him so he gets traded to San Francisco and becomes a hall of famer......Go figure......

I wish Miami would have taken Quinn and Beck would have went to Detroit.

by midwayrider on Dec 9, 2007 2:57 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

You want Beck to get dumped?
That's positive thinking. Like you said, Steve Young and John Elway, among others, looked terrible in their first few games starting. And John has no help from the supporting cast.

But with that said, you have to believe that there's going to be some talk about taking a QB like Matt Ryan with the #1 overall pick (yes, I think Ryan is the best of the bunch).

QB's
Well it looks like the offense is at least trying a little harder now.

If Lemon gets hurt who they got next?  Is Green available.

Speaking of San Francisco I wonder if they might be interested in Beck since Smith looks like he is a bust?

by midwayrider on Dec 9, 2007 3:11 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

We aren't trading Beck
Let's all calm down with giving up on Beck already. He wasn't ready. It's that simple. The original plan was for him to sit out the entire year and learn behind Trent Green. But that went by the wayside when Trent went down.

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 3:14 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

there really was no plan
unfortunately there is no plan, nor was there ever a plan to develope beck, and that is why Cam needs to go ASAP.

by W NY Fins Fan on Dec 9, 2007 10:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Imagine this
we start getting blown out and all of a sudden our offense, which hasn't showed up for the past month, manages to put together 2 TD drives. Who would have thought?

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 3:12 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

As much as I don't like him
Cleo has alot more experience than Beck. Beck is new, hasn't scored a touchdown and is scared of being responsible for not getting a win. Beck will be fine, he just wasn't ready and don't forget that he played well against Pitt and Philly.

by Enhalo on Dec 9, 2007 3:17 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

That's it.
That's exactly it. The thing is, we don't know what Beck's ceiling is. We pretty much know what Cleo's ceiling is. I really hope the people saying dump Beck or trade Beck here are kidding because, come on.

by The Dude on Dec 9, 2007 3:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Another fumble
by our hero Cleo...and Beck couldn't hold on to the ball?

by Enhalo on Dec 9, 2007 3:20 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Another fumble
thats 3, to go along with his 2 ints. At least Cam has opened up a little bit on offense.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 3:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Beck
Is Beck still suited up?
Well if this muffed onside kick doesn't screw them over they could win this game....

by midwayrider on Dec 9, 2007 3:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Those are the kinds of breaks 0-12 teams need to get!

I think as the game goes on the Dolphins are gaining more confidence....They might just win this one

is he calls a play like that and then he doesnt go for it on 4th and 4 in Buffalo territory

by Enhalo on Dec 9, 2007 3:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

It's a moot
point now but I think the onsides was a good call. You're down 17 on the road and 0-12, why not? People crucify Cam for being soft. Then he makes a gutsy call -- one the Fins had several chances to convert -- and he gets crucified. Damned if he does, damned if he don't.

by The Dude on Dec 9, 2007 3:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Until that last TD our Defense has held them scoreless the 2nd half. We've scored 10 unanswered points, still had a quater and half to go. Anyways if your gonna onside, then you go for in Bills territory on 4 & 4.

Todays game in a nutshell
~The Miami Dolphins are so terrible that even their division rivals, the Buffalo Bills, are starting to feel sorry for them. ~

~"I was talking to Booker out there, and he was saying, `Man, I don't know what it feels like to win in this league, yet,"' Whitner said, referring to Dolphins rookie running back Lorenzo Booker. "And I said, `You know, don't stress over it. ... Things are going to get better."'~

~ Trouble is, Miami put up such a weak fight that it's difficult to gauge how good the Bills were.~

~The game was effectively over when Buffalo took advantage of two turnovers and three sacks to build a 24-7 lead by the end of the first quarter.~

~Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards' four touchdown passes~

~The Bills' running attack produced two 100-yard rushers ~

~I feel for Miami, but obviously, we wanted to beat them as bad as we possibly could here," coach Dick Jauron said~

~capitalizing on one of the more laughable moments. On his ninth play from scrimmage, rookie Dolphins starter John Beck was untouched in the pocket when the ball slipped out of his hand and fell directly into Wilson's arms, allowing the converted receiver to score his second defensive touchdown this year.~

This right here is too rich> This is the QB of our team:

~ Lemon threw two interceptions including one picked off by Whitner after ---the quarterback attempted a play-action fake with no one in his backfield. -----

This team is a laughing stock, Cameron has lost this team. It clearly shows in their play, even our rivals feel sorry for us.

Pro-Camers what you got now? Wanna talk about our improved offense? How bout that improved O-line? I'll give you injuries on the offense, but there aren't any in that O-line. Our QB is play-acting with no one behind him. Got blown out at home to lowly Jets and the game in Buffalo was over after the 1st quarter.

Fire Cam Cameron. Thank You.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 8:38 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yup
Cus simply firing Cam would fix all of this mess.

by Matty I on Dec 9, 2007 9:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Nah
But it would be a step toward fixing it. If he isn't part of the solution, he is part of the problem. Before Cameron took over we were bad, but nothing like this.

Give me 1 good reason why we should keep him. I don't want any "excuses" why we should keep him, I want a "reason". What has he improved on this team? What has he done to keep job? What has he done to warrant another year? Just one thing.

by Neo on Dec 9, 2007 10:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

replacing Cam doesn't need to be a judgement
I don't think we need to judge Cam bad good or anything else to agree that a change in coach is needed just to turn the momentum of despair.

A fresh coach means the players have a reason to start fresh, no judgement, just perform at their merits.

And as much as Cam is a QB coach, I think the judgement is so clouded right now.  Nothing has gone as he hoped or planned and I don't trust him to evaluate anyone, including his pick Beck.

by cocoabeach on Dec 9, 2007 10:46 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Give me a reason
to trust another HC; just name him. If it's some one who will (not can or maybe) lead us to the SB then just maybe I'll join you but until then just because you are negative doesn't mean that I have to join you. I don't want another fancy name; we've had several of those and that is why we find ourselves in this mess now. I can name all of those guys too but none of them are the answer for this team. Ask Don Shula back; Washington brought back Joe Gibbs, A HOF'er, and they are going to the SB right? Oh, so sorry, they are just another bad team. Get the Tuna, call up the Chin, maybe we can hire Chucky, or how about some Marty ball? Surely any of those guys will get us, at least, two or more SB's. Oh yeah Pete Carroll (another Nicky Satan) I forgot NE already tried him and he left with his tail between his legs.

Please just give me one reason to think your choice will get us some SB's and I'll be more than glad to join you and holler with you  "FIRE CAM NOW" until then I'll stick with who we have, at least for a little while , thank you.

how about any coach with a winning record
The dolphins have had too many years of being run by head coaches who have career losing records. Cam is no differant. Wanny, Saban, and now Cam have all been career NFL losers. Look at Cam's staff, capers-loser, mularkey-loser... It's time to bring in a winner. Guy's who are winners, generally have plans when things go wrong. they tend to know how to develop young players, and work them into the line up at times where they will succeed. Cam has none of that. In fact his team has regressed as the season has gone on.
Any response from him, yup he put mularkey, maybe the worst playcaller in the league, in charge of the offense.

It's time for a change, but this time hire a winner. any winner, but we need someone who knows how to build a winning team.

by W NY Fins Fan on Dec 10, 2007 1:23 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

IIRC...
Bill Belichek had a career losing record when the Pats hired him.

As a head coach
but he had won a few superbowls as a DC.

Has a game plan.

Knows how to handle rookies.

Knows how to make adjustments.

Decisive

Knows how to play-call (without a committee).

Knows when to call a timeout.

Knows how to handle Public Relations.

Doesn't look like a deer in headlights.

Knows how to manage the game clock.
