Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Video Time!!

With the final game of a truly horrendous season right around the corner, I thought now might me a good time to fire up the "way back" machine. So let's go way back to 1994, when the Miami Dolphins were a relevant NFL team. And that was thanks to, in large part, the greatest quarterback who ever lived. Below is the game winning drive of that classic week 1 dual between Dan Marino's Dolphins and Drew Bledsoe's Patriots. Enjoy!

Wow
I don't remember much but ever since I was 5,  Iwould watch all games and see Marino's brilliance. Its also so interesting how much the game has changed.
Let this season BE GINN!

Wow. Great stuff.
Thanks, Matty.

I really feel for you guys who are so young.  I mean, this is a nice drive, but Marino in the 80s -- my God.  As good as Manning and Brady look when they're really on, Marino was better.  He was the Michael Jordan of football: he was just playing a different game from everybody else.  I still get goosebumps every time I think about it.

A few things from the video that really struck me:

  1. Terry Kirby.  I had completely forgotten about that guy.
  2. I love the way Shula just casually waved to Marino to tell him to go for it on 4th, cool as can be.  Classic Shula.
  3. I didn't remember BP having his man boobs that long ago.

What a joy
I was born in 1980 so i didbt get experience the best of marinos career but from about the 89 season what a joy was it watch this man play football the d plays with 6, 7, or 8 db's and they still cant stop marino brady nor manning can do that today especially with the way wr's arent allowed to be touched in todays game

Honored to have seen...
I was young when Marino worked alot of his magic...he is the greatest quaterback of all time and that clip gave me goosebumps...we are lucky to always have him as a leader with the 'Phins
win or lose...I love this team!

Thank You
Nice.  Very nice.

Marino was the ultimate leader.  You are a different football team when your best player is your quarterback.

Man, I miss those days.  Plus back then my parents paid for everything.
